LIGHTING AUDITS
/
SITE ASSESSMENTS
Lighting Audits: Comprehensive review of existing lighting installations to evaluate compliance with applicable codes and standards. We identify gaps in performance and quality, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance efficiency, visual comfort, and overall lighting performance.
Site Assessments: On-site evaluation of existing lighting infrastructure to document current conditions, identify opportunities, and understand site and electrical constraints. We collaborate with key stakeholders to define the required technical lighting parameters, ensuring alignment with project objectives and operational needs.

MASTERPLANNING
Our masterplanning approach addresses the visual, organisational, environmental, and technical dimensions of urban lighting. We define clear lighting planning criteria to guide initiatives for both new and existing urban environments, as well as newly developed activity centres, covering both functional and expressive aspects of lighting.
Solune supports decision-makers who shape and manage the night-time image of their city. Our lighting masterplans provide a solid, long-term framework that ensures cohesive, sustainable, and future-ready lighting development.
CONCEPT
/
SCHEMATIC DESIGN
The lighting concept forms the foundation for a design that can be meaningfully developed and successfully implemented. We research and develop each concept in close collaboration with key stakeholders—including the client, operator, architect, interior designer, and other consultants—to ensure alignment across vision, function, and feasibility.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
/
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Developing the lighting concept into buildable and realistic technical details requires close coordination among all key project stakeholders. Following the finalisation of the concept, budget direction, and electrical loading, we review, recommend, and approve the development of the lighting design into coordinated CAD lighting layouts, preliminary luminaire selections, and lighting control schedules.
Key Drivers
• Integration with interior and exterior design concepts
• Heritage considerations
• Luminaire product families
• Custom design features
• Cultural context
• Consultant expertise and experience

CONTRACT IMPLEMENTATION
/
SITE SUPERVISION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING
During the procurement and tender stage, we assist in the calling, assessment, review, and recommendation of suitable suppliers for lighting and lighting control systems in accordance with the project specifications. We also respond to technical queries during this phase and issue formal evaluation reports with clear recommendations.
As part of contract administration, we supervise on-site installation to ensure full compliance with the approved lighting design. This includes monitoring construction progress, certifying works where required, and addressing site-related issues or necessary design adjustments.
Testing and commissioning cover the final aiming, focusing, testing, and programming of the lighting systems, culminating in certification upon completion. Deliverables include as-built drawings and approved operation and maintenance manuals.
DEFECTS
/
LIABILITY, MAINTENANCE & TRAINING
We recognise the importance of delivering works to the highest standard, including addressing any defects that may not be evident at the time of practical completion. Following completion, Solune continues to support the project throughout the defects liability period, ensuring all lighting and control systems perform optimally.
Upon handover, Solune can provide tailored training for end users, project teams, and key stakeholders to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and long-term understanding of the lighting and lighting control systems.
